On December 15th, 2012 the Boards of Directors of ATP Moldova organized for the Association members the second workshop devoted to the accuracy of expression in Romanian language. The number of those present at the event was large, both the Association members and sympathizers. Mr. Ion Melniciuc presented many quotes about translation; one of them is as follows:”If you want to be closer to the original text, keep yourself away from it”. He also attracted our attention to the basic principles of translation: ”Show the faithfulness to the text, but do not deform the text meaning”.

The third edition of Translation school has been held. It is natural for the  Association of Professional Translators to make conclusions, to speak about lessons learnt and experience obtained as well as other subjects that are worth highlighting.

On November 18th, 2011, in Bucharest, was held FIT Europe International Seminar “Working Together to Mutual Benefit”, organized be the Association of Translators of Romania (ATR) and FIT Europe (the International Federation of Translators Regional Centre for Europe). Representatives from more than 30 associations of translators participated in the event. ATP Moldova was represented by Aliona Mihăilă-Brînză. The seminar was a good opportunity to discuss different forms of collaboration in the domain of translation, to share experiences and exchange ideas, information and worries related to the translator profession as well as challenges it is confronted with.
